Candace Who?
We all watch Cupcake Wars. Love it. We all know Candace Nelson. The master cupcake maker and judge on Cupcake Wars. We wanted to make our own cupcakes. So what did we do? Duncan Hines? No. Betty Crocker? No. We wanted to do it right. We used Sprinkles cupcakes chocolate mix (Candace Nelsons cupcake store, sold at Williams Sonoma) and we followed the recipe (with some modifications, of course) -- adding eggs, milk, and butter (make sure that the butter is room temperature - trust me!!). When the cupcakes were halfway done baking, we added chocolate chunks (no, not chocolate chips but better and bigger than chocolate chips) to the cupcakes -- we put three in the middle of each cupcake (be careful not to burn yourself like I did) and pushed the chocolate chunks in with another chocolate chunk (why not?) -- they made the cupcakes nice and gooey and I can't eat cupcakes that are not nice and gooey. After they baked, we let them cool for about ten minutes and then we made buttercream icing but we decided to be crazy and did not add butter. Interesting flavor but next time, we will be adding butter (butter makes the icing softer). The cupcakes were so good that I cannot wait to make them again.
