Tao Midtown NYC

We all like Chinese food -- who doesn't? So I went to Tao Uptown for a good dinner.

Guess who was waiting for me when I got there?  Buddha.  Yes, there was an enormous Buddha in the middle of the restaurant.  We sit down and I ordered an amazing drink it was . . . a Fauxtini.  It was amazing.

For an appetizer, we ordered cold and hot edamame - we had to do a taste taste to see which was better.  How great does that sound - a great snack hot and and a great snack cold.  But there had to be a winner.  The cold enamame had more flavor but the hot edamame was more of a classic edamame taste.  We also ordered the chicken ginger dumplings - they were literally to die for.  Then for th

e main course, we got Drunken Sea Bass.  If you are like me you, you don't like your fish "fishy" and to my surprise, it was not "fishy" at all but was so yummy and was full of flavor.  We also ate Wok Seared New York Sirloin with mushrooms and mashed potatoes but they were not your standard boring sides.  They were amazing - so good that we were fighting over them, and as another dish we got the Tao Lo Mein with chicken, which was good but not as exciting as the other entrees. We all love fried food so we got sweet potato and garlic string bean tempura.

And you can't leave Tao without having dessert.  Simply amazing.  The sweetest part of the night.  We had chocolate spring rolls and the one and only not big not big gigantic fortune cookie.





Overall, the night was filled with great food drinks and memories.  Tao is definitely a night to remember.
